After a successful debut in the CEV Superbike Championship in 2014, Michael Møller Pedersen is now planning to compete in the new "FIM CEV European Superbike Championship" this year.
As part of the season preparation, Michael is conducting a four-day test at the Cartagena Circuit in Spain from January 26th to 29th to evaluate different bikes and teams.
The goal of this test is to find the most competitive package for the championship.
"In 2014, it was clear that I didn’t have the fastest bike in the class, but I also learned that working in much greater detail with the bike's electronics is necessary. Therefore, I want to find a solution this year that offers the technical knowledge I lack and a faster bike so I don’t have to push 110% every lap just to be 4-5 seconds off the leaders."
A significant change in the 2015 championship is the introduction of a mono-brand tire rule, meaning every rider must use Michelin Superbike tires in limited quantities.
For the past four years, Michael has been using Pirelli tires and has extensive experience with this manufacturer.
"I have never tried the Michelin tires, so I don’t know how the bike will behave on them. But the key change for me is that there will be no factory/prototype riders this year, which will hopefully reduce the gap to the front runners."
It is still undecided whether Michael will also test the Michelin tires during the Cartagena test.
